One of our new creations is our rum-bourbon barrel aged coffee! Our master roaster did many trials and finally came up with the perfect process. The coffee is aged in bourbon oak barrels that were used to age bourbon and then rum. After we age the coffee, we roast it medium-dark and result is wonderful!
These particular barrels have been aging spirits since 1992! In the beginning, they were used to age bourbon but, recently, they were used to age rum. Since the coffee is roasted at such high temperatures, all traces of alcohol are burned off in the process and you’re left with just the natural rum-bourbon flavors. The coffee ends up with delicious hints of bakers chocolate, cedar oak, with a rum-bourbon finish.
