Elida Estate is a coffee estate owned by the Lamastus family who have owned that land since 1918. More than half of the farm is located inside Volcan Baru National Park which is home to one of the highest volcanos in Central America and is a protected ecological reserve and sanctuary.

The coffee is grown and produced under unique conditions which shows in the quality of the beans. The farm is located at a very high elevation meaning low temperatures and the coffee is grown in rich young volcanic soil. During the dry season, the area is still covered in fog and mist and it is grown in shaded areas. This slows the process down causing it to take 2-3 years longer than average for the plant to produce and a month longer than average for the fruit to ripen.

Coffees from this estate are considered among the best in the world with select lots auctioning for up to $227 a pound.
